A little about the author 

Greetings! My name is Kiara. I am from Massachusetts. I currently reside in Texas. In 2017 I graduated from Massasoit Community College, in which my studies concentrated in Media Communications. I love to write and storytell. Specifically, I love to write poetry. Many years ago, God placed it in my heart to write a book , it took me some time but I finally did it.

I originally contemplated writing a fiction story, but I thought it would serve a greater purpose to tell my story.

Book Synopsis

Poetic Stitches : Beauty for Ashes is a memoir detailing some of the identity "defining" moments of my life combined with an exploration of my poetry written at that time and present day as I have been reflecting and healing.

Growing up and within many of my relationships I felt as though my concerns were falling on deaf ears and there was a need to be heard. Being rejected made my identity synonymous with feeling invisible. The perspective of being invisible gave me the desire to be "seen" by anybody at any cost. I adapted to the notion I didn't "belong" in which poetry became my refuge. 

What I have found is purpose, healing, and identity are all connected. God is the foundation of  it all. There is a space /lane  carved out that you have been created to occupy. To occupy that space and to live beyond your pain and potential there must be an exchange.
